I am pleased to extend my sincerest congratulations to all the winners of the Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards 2022!

In today’s Industry 4.0 era, information and communications technology has become indispensable in everyday life and business operations. Moreover, ICT plays a pivotal role in facilitating the development of all sectors of society. Given the importance of ICT, I am delighted that the HKSAR government is committed to transforming our city into an international innovation and technology (I&T) hub and attracting leading global I&T talents to Hong Kong, thus making Hong Kong a key player in the scientific and technological advancement of our Nation.

The prestigious ICT Awards were established in 2006 to recognise and promote outstanding information and communications technology inventions and applications, thereby encouraging local ICT professionals and enterprises to further excel in developing innovative solutions to meet societal and business needs. This year, the Awards acknowledge outstanding achievements in multiple areas, including smart living, smart business, startups, fintech, digital entertainment and more.

This year’s awardees have leveraged their expertise not only in pursuing innovative technologies to advance the frontiers of industry, but also in proactively converting their creative ideas into practical solutions. My fellow judges and I were greatly impressed. The winning entries have great market potential and the ability to create significant benefits for the technological, social and economic development of Hong Kong.
