With over three decades of experience in higher education, I place great emphasis on nurturing students’ creativity and encourage them to solve problems with systematic thinking, thereby stimulating their innovation potential. I believe creative thinking is a crucial skill for both career development and entrepreneurship.
The HKSAR Government is committed to establishing Hong Kong as an International Innovation and Technology Centre, dedicated to promoting innovation and diversification across industries, enabling Hong Kong to play a key role in the scientific and technological advancement of our country.
Since their inception in 2006, the Hong Kong ICT Awards have been a significant driving force in promoting local innovation and technology development. The Awards recognise outstanding inventions and applications in multiple areas, including fintech, smart living, smart ageing and digital entertainment. Over the years, the Awards have inspired both industry and researchers to pursue excellence through innovation.
This year’s awardees have leveraged innovative ideas and cutting-edge technologies, combined with industry expertise, to present practical and creative solutions for an array of commercial and social challenges. I look forward to witnessing the successful implementation of their ideas. I am confident that they will profoundly benefit both businesses and communities, creating a positive impact on society.
