Awards Presentation Ceremony of Hong Kong ICT Awards 2012 To Recognise Outstanding ICT Industry Practitioners

(28th March 2012) Supported by Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong ICT Awards presentation ceremony will be held on 3rd April (Tuesday) in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Prior to the ceremony, the Government Chief Information Officer, Mr Daniel Lai, will meet the media at the Convention Foyer, Level 1, at 6.10pm to speak on government support to the Hong Kong ICT Awards.
The HKICT Awards have been organised for six consecutive years since 2006 and have been widely acknowledged by the industry. The awards have not only strengthened the image of HK ICT industry in both local and international market, but also provide great opportunities for the ICT elites to deliver their creative and innovative ICT ideas. With the proactive response and support from the industry, this year we have received 675 entries competing for different awards. Most of the entries do show their professional in creativity and up-to-date technology. It is no doubt that those entries will definitely bring a positive prospect to the HK ICT industry.
The Hong Kong ICT Awards, which is established to provide an interactive platform for ICT professionals to demonstrate their creativity, can also act as a springboard for creating more business opportunities and facilitating the successful development of international markets.
The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2012 comprises ten categories, which includes the Best Business Award, Best Collaboration Award, Best Digital Entertainment Award, Best Digital Inclusion Award, Best Green ICT Award, Best Innovation & Research Award, Best Lifestyle Award, Best Professional Development Award, Best Public Service Application Award and Best Ubiquitous Networking Award. Each award category is organised by an industry-related organisation. There is one Grand Award in each category and an “Award of the Year” would be selected from the Grand Awards by the Grand Judging Panel to recognise their remarkable achievements in ICT.
Individual awards presentation ceremony for the ten award categories will be conducted in the afternoon, and the Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held in the evening with Mr John Tsang Chun-wah, GBM, JP, Financial Secretary as the officiating guest who will present the “Award of the Year”. Besides, a special session has been arranged for the winners of the ten Grand Awards to meet the press. Media representatives are welcome to attend all functions.
