The HKICTA 2012: Best Lifestyle Award Launching Ceremony
ICT & Lifestyle Experts Share the Mission & Challenge of eLearning
Bloggers Discuss Lifestyle & Information Technology

【13 December 2011‧Hong Kong】 Supported by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), the HKSAR Government, Hong Kong Trade Development and Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF) has officiated the Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) 2012: Best Lifestyle Award launching ceremony today (Tuesday) in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City. The organiser also conducted two discussion sessions to examine and discuss the future development of eLearning, lifestyle and information technology.

The Award is honoured to have invited Dr. William Lo, JP, the Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2012: Best Lifestyle Award; Dr. Royce Yuen, JP, Head Assessor of Social, Communications & Media Stream; Dr. William Yu, Head Assessor of Green, Healthy & Creative Living; Mr. Erwin Huang, Chairman of eLearning Consortium; and Ms. Irene Leung, Chairperson of HKICTA 2012: Best Lifestyle Award Organising Committee, to officiate at the launching ceremony.

Speaking in the launching ceremony, Dr. William Lo, JP, the Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2012: Best Lifestyle Award, remarked, “Stepping into the 4th year, the Best Lifestyle Award has successfully awarded a number of innovative lifestyle solutions. We hope to attract more entries so as to credit to the outstanding efforts made by the industry members, as well as to enhance the living standard in Hong Kong. ”

Chairperson of HKICTA 2012: Best Lifestyle Award Organising Committee, Ms. Irene Leung said during the launching ceremony, “The Best Lifestyle Award offers three award streams, namely: 'Green, Healthy and Creative Living', which gives credit to green and healthy lifestyle concepts; 'Learning and Living', which has invited Mr. Kenneth Chen J.P., Under Secretary for Education as the Head Assessor for this stream to encourage eLearning; and 'Social, Communications and Media' which supports the local communications industry. The application is open from 15 December 2011 till 6 February 2012. We welcome applications from all local professional groups so as to further uplift their images.”

The organiser held the “eLearning – Mission and Challenge” discussion panel immediately after the ceremony. All officiating guests shared their opinions, recommended improvements and solutions to various problems encountered in promoting eLearning. In addition, a group of bloggers were invited to share their views and give advice on “Lifestyle and Information Technology”.

Since the establishment in 2006, the Hong Kong ICT Awards have established its prestigious and premium status in the region to recognise, promote and commend the excellent achievements of Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations. The Awards comprise ten categories, Best Lifestyle Award is one of them. The Awards aim to attract the excellent achievements to which Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations contribute, as well as to encourage local practitioners to develop innovative and creative solutions, which uplift the image of Hong Kong ICT sectors, both locally and internationally.
